Penn is a vibrant campus where there are always things going on that the student body can get involved with. That being said, whilst I didn’t go and do much by myself off campus, here are some things I was involved with on campus from the 13th of February to the 2nd of March.
🏀 Penn Basketball Vs Yale ⛹🏼♂️
On the 17th of February, I went to watch the Penn Quakers take on the Yale Bulldogs at the Palestra (Penn’s basketball stadium) with my friends from the Christian Union. Penn won the game!
During the game, the Penn cheerleaders carry around a Papa John’s pizza box, and give it to a Penn fan who is cheering and making lots of noise. Surprisingly, I won it! At the time of writing, I still never cashed the voucher in… This is because, it was a bit misleading. The voucher essentially is not for free pizza, rather, you can get all of the things on the laminated piece of paper for $80. I – as I’m sure most people would have assumed – thought that you received the things on the paper for free, especially considering that only one fan wins the prize. Oh well, still a fun moment.
🖼 Harrison College Art Tour 🎨
On the 25th of February I went on a Philly art tour led by Matt Neff, the Harrison college faulty fellow, who is also the undergraduate director of fine arts and design. We went to a few different galleries, and Matt would share some information about the different galleries. It was really interesting, and I find it so cool that students can attend these free events with knowledgable Penn faculty!
🤵♂️ Senior’s Formal 🍺
On the 28th of February, I went to the senior’s formal at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. I am grateful to Matt Burst for being his plus one! It was a really fun night and I enjoyed spending it with my friends!
