On the 21st of December, after 18 weeks, I was reunited with my family. We spent from the 21st to 29th of December looking around Philly. Here are some photos from the things we got up to!
π Penn Campus Tour π«
On the 21st, I went to the airport to surprise my family. It was so special seeing my Mum, Dad, brother Darcy, and Nanna. On getting back to their Airbnb, Darcy and I left to go to the Lauder dinning hall where we shared a meal, and Darcy was able to meet some of my friends.
On the 22nd I enjoyed showing my family around Penn’s campus. We went to the Hill dinning hall for lunch, and also went to English House (Kcech) for dinner where we were joined by my friends Carson and Isabel.
πΊπΈ Looking Around Philadelphia π
- Visiting the largest playable organ in the world at Macy’s.
- Reading Terminal Market – the family tried Philly cheesteaks for the first time!
- Liberty Bell.
- Christmas Village at Love Park – sadly Santa was a no show…
- First snow fall for my trip here on the 23rd of December!
π Radio City Rockettes βοΈ
On the 24th of December, my family decided to head for a day trip to New York City to watch the Radio City Rockettes Christmas Spectacular. The East Coast was experiencing a cold spell, and this day was probably the coldest I’ve ever felt in my life. It was -13Β°C, but it said on my phone that it felt like -23Β°C because of the wind.
βοΈ Christmas Day βοΈ
It was weird spending Christmas day away from the family, but it was still a special day! We spent the morning at Redemption City Church!
For dinner we went to Bridget Foy’s where we had a yummy dinner, and I enjoyed trying eggnog.
π Gettysburg and Hershey π«
On the 26th of December, we rented a car and drove to Gettysburg.
On the way back home, we stopped at Hershey’s Chocolate World. This was essentially a massive Hershey shop but also had a free ride which shows the history of Hershey and how their chocolate is made. We were also able to make a massive Reese’s peanut butter cup!
